Есту қабілетінің жоғалуы бүкіл әлемдегі балалар арасында сенсорлық мүгедектіктің ең көп таралған түрі болып табылады. Қалыпты есту балалардың жас ерекшеліктеріне сәйкес келетін толыққанды әлеуметтік және тілдік дамуының маңызды шарты болып табылады. Сәтті есту-сөйлеуді қалпына келтіру пациенттің есту және сөйлеу қабілетін қалпына келтіру немесе алу ретінде анықталады. Пәнаралық міндет ретінде кохлеарлық имплантациядан (КИ) өткен балаларды есту-сөйлеуді оңалту бірқатар нақты аспектілерді қамтиды.
Осы аспектілерді терең түсіну дәрігерлік болжамдардың дәлдігін арттырып қана қоймайды, сонымен қатар болашақта есту-сөйлеуді оңалтудың оңтайлы нәтижелеріне қол жеткізу үшін түзетуге жататын факторларды анықтауға ықпал етеді. Бұл зерттеудің мақсаты КИ-дан өткен балалардың есту-сөйлеуді оңалту нәтижелеріне әсер етуі мүмкін ықтимал факторларды талдау болып табылады.
